Gibson, 27, who only made an appearance for Burnley last season, will register in Norwich permanently if the club wins a promotion directly to the Premier League.
“I’m probably delighted,” Gibson told The Norwich’s official website.”I’ve been looking to play football for a few years and it hasn’t materialized, so a new beginning is exactly what I need.
“An opportunity to come to an aspiring football club who has a transparent ambition to return to the Premier League on first application; that’s why I’m here to play, play football and come back, enjoy it and get that club.”instead.”
Gibson made his Middlesbrough club debut, for which he made 185 appearances in all competitions, and joined Burnley in 2018 for a record non-unusual fee.
Gibson struggled to make his way into the formation of the first team under Burnley boss Sean Dyche and his only appearance last season in the Carabao Cup in August 2019.
Norwich was relegated to the Sky Bet Championship in July after a season in the Premier League.
