Nottingham Forest vs Man United Predictions & Picks: Or To Score

Manchester United have struggled away from home for some time, but a clash with lower-tier Nottingham Forest may be just what they want to right the ship. Find out what our EPL picks have to say.

Nottingham Forest will hope to claim their first win over Manchester United in nearly 30 years when they host the Red Devils at The City Ground on Saturday. Our Premier League odds have Man United as favorites to continue their dominance as the away side.

Forest claimed their first win under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo on Boxing Day with a 3-1 victory over long-suffering Newcastle. Erik ten Hag’s time at Manchester United looked to be coming to an end on Boxing Day, but they overcame a 2-0 deficit against Aston Villa with three second-half goals in a mystery at Old Trafford.

Can Nottingham Forest end their nightmare and avoid a 10-game losing streak against Man United, or will the Red Devils end a four-game winless streak on the road? Our football betting picks and predictions for Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United on December 30 therefore deserves to be an entertaining and balanced game.

A 3-0 win at Everton on November 26, the last time the Red Devils scored away from home in the Premier League. Since then, they have travelled to Newcastle, Liverpool and West Ham without a single player having located their decision on the minutes.

But those teams are all at the top of the table, and the Red Devils have never beaten a top-nine team away from home since Ten Hag took over. What they’ve done is score goals against smaller clubs. and they have taken problems from Burnley, Fulham and Everton.

All three wins were a blank slate, but none were convincing apart from Everton’s victory. Manchester United’s eight away goals this season are the second-smallest in the league, as they have struggled mightily to convert their chances and break their opponents.

But ten Hag may have found something Tuesday when he dropped Antony to the bench in place of Garnacho. His attacking ability balanced the Man United attack — something they’ve badly needed, as no team bases a higher percentage of their attacks down the left than they have this season.

Nottingham Forest looks a new side under Santos. While they fell 3-2 in their first match under his helm, they played with 10 men for more than an hour and looked competitive against Bournemouth.

Their performance away at Newcastle was cause for hope amongst supporters. They held just one-third possession, but had just as many successful dribbles as the Magpies and nearly matched their seven shots on goal.

Santos have shown in previous Premier League articles that they are not someone who would dream of playing a goalless draw. And in the two games since his arrival, Chris Wood has noticed a resurgence in popularity. He scored four goals and assisted while taking seven shots. .

Only Luton has allowed a higher percentage of shots from inside the six-yard box than Man United, which bodes well for opposing strikers. The Red Devils also struggle with set pieces, and are prone to leaving themselves open on the counter due to their tendency to turn it over with poor passes and mistakes in the middle of the park.

It lends itself to the best situation for Forest to score at least one or two goals, like the two they scored in the first four minutes of their August opener at Old Trafford. Man United beat them with three goals that day. completing the comeback with a penalty in the last quarter of an hour.

Forest is averaging 19. 5 tackles per game this season, and that number tends to increase against larger teams. They attempted 21 against Newcastle and had 19 in the first game of this season with Man United. The Red Devils deserve ownership here, and the compact dominance around Forest’s penalty area will allow for a greater number of challenges.

When they get the ball back, Wood must at least make a purposeful effort. He has controlled several shots on goal in his two games with Santos, and only five groups have allowed more shots on target this season than the Red Devils. They also concede the fourth-most shots in open play.

The 3-man moneyline sees Man United as favourites as the away team, and the value drops particularly after their win. On Thursday, their odds dropped from around 130 to 115 across the board, with a Forest win going the other way. either side are favourites over the tie, with Forest making 230 and the draw paid 260.

I’m staying far away from this one, but if forced to bet I’d take the value in the draw. The implied odds are a bit off, and Santos knows a point here is valuable. It won’t be a nil-nil affair, but I have this projected at close to a 2-2 stalemate. Forest have lost their last four matches at home, a key reason they made a managerial change.

That’s another reason I’m going with the Over in this fixture. It’s priced between -135 and -150, so there’s value in shopping around, while the Under is plus-odds across the board.

Hosts tend to worry in certain cases about higher scores. Forest have scored nine goals in their last two games and there have been three or more goals in seven of their last 11 Premier League games.

For Man United, it’s the complete opposite away from home. Only 3 of their nine away games have ended, but that is partly because they failed to score in 4 of them. But this game is similar to his games at Sheffield Wednesday and Everton, each of which saw 3 goals.
