Bayer Leverkusen have officially announced the signing of Rennes central defender Jeanuël Belocian (19 years old). The promising 19-year-old from Rennes has signed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga champions. Belocian, who can play as a centre-back or left-back, is the first signing of the summer window for Xabi Alonso’s team. The Ligue 1 club are expected to pocket a €15m payment for Jeanuël Belocian, a good return for a youngster who has played 39 games. with the Rouge et Noir in 3 seasons.
Jeanuël Belocian was also due to start the final year of his contract with Rennes, so the timing of Leverkusen’s approaches suited all parties.
