Lazio have announced the arrival of Igor Tudor, who will take over as the new coach following the resignation of Maurizio Sarri.
Sarri resigned on Tuesday last week, less than 24 hours after the team’s painful 2-1 home defeat to relegation-contenders Udinese. In his absence, assistant coach Giovanni Martusciello replaced the Biancocelesti in their 3-2 win over Frosinone at the weekend.
Lazio were quick to consider a number of conceivable characteristics to succeed Sarri, adding Miroslav Klose, Cristian Brocchi and Tommaso Rocchi, but after a day or two of deliberation, they made the decision to concentrate on Tudor, new to his time at Olympique de Marseille.
As announced, Igor Tudor now officially has the new Lazio coach, putting in writing his contract, which will be for one year until June 2025 with an option for a second year connected to results that can be achieved without problems.
Lazio’s next game will be on March 30 against Juventus, which will give Igor Tudor the opportunity to work intensively with his new players before his first outing.
