OFFICIAL: Juventus terminates Higuain contract

Juventus have officially demonstrated the termination of Gonzalo Higuaín’s contract by mutual consent following his with Inter Miami.

The 32-year-old left Turin last week after accepting a severance package with the Bianconeri and had already arrived in Miami before his official transfer was announced.

New coach Andrea Pirlo has told the veteran striker that he is not in the club’s plans for next season and will leave before the signing window closes.

Juventus issued one on the club’s official website, confirming Higuain’s departure:

Turin, 17 September 2020 – Juventus Football Club SpA announces the mutual termination of the contract with Gonzalo Gerardo Higuaín, an operation that generates a negative economic effect of approximately 18. 3 million euros in the 2019/2020 monetary year for the depreciation of the residual of the player’s registration rights.

Higuaín spent three seasons with the Bianconeri, winning three consecutive Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia titles, scoring 66 goals in 148 appearances, while helping to advise the club on a Champions League final in 2016.
