Ohio State Soccer Game in Maryland on Saturday Canceled Due to COVID-19 Outbreak

The Ohio state game in Maryland on Saturday was canceled due to an outbreak of coronavirus under the Terrapins program and may not be postponed.

Maryland announced that 8 players had tried COVID-19 in the beyond seven days, resulting in the game being cancelled.

It is the first Buckeyes game to be affected this season, which began last month and saw them play in three games.

“The health, protection and well-being of our student-athletes is our number one concern,” Buckeyes coach Ryan Day said in a statement through the school. “Obviously, we’re disappointed that we can’t compete this week, but I’m incredibly proud of our team and how they’ve behaved in this pandemic.

“We wish Maryland, its student-athletes and their systems a possibility in their combat as opposed to this problem.
