BALTIMORE – Throughout the season, Luis Rojas and his players have praised this team’s match. The Mets talked about how they wouldn’t give up, how they would play until the final, how they would soon turn the corner.
Welcome to September, when we’ll see if they or bend.
A year ago, the Mets ran a fierce run in the second half but failed. We’re about to see if they can do the same, but for another purpose.
“We go out every single day and play hard, we keep fighting, as Louie (Rojas) says,” McNeil said.”Let’s keep working. It’s a tough season this year.Last year we had all the fans.at Citi Field last year. It was very exciting, especially this national series. This year we have to bring our own energy, which we can also do.”
At the start of Tuesday’s Game in Baltimore, the Mets were 15-20 and had lost four in a row.Maybe they’re just spiraling.
But due to the expanded playoffs, in which 8 groups from each league qualify for the playoffs, they are just 2.5 games from a spot in the playoffs.
They’re alive and breathing, even if they didn’t play like that.
“It definitely gives you more opportunities to take the next step,” coach Luis Rojas said of the extended playoffs for this season.”We work, we don’t look for any specific position. We play, we pass out every day.. We need to win every single game. We’re not in a bad position like we’ve done, we’re there right now, but we’re still aiming that day.
“So I think it’s smart to have even more places to have more chances to make the playoffs.”
The Mets have failed to achieve wonderful consistency this season. If pitching is excellent, click Silent, and vice versa.
“They’re still fighting,” Rojas said of his team.”Even on the scoreboard, where you see that we are upstairs and create situations. These great hits to separate a game, those great hits to come back and get a game back.Leading or equivalent of a party, they didn’t come and that’s what we want more and more.
“And since the end of the release, we just want to locate that consistency. We saw when our bullpen goes down a stretch that closes the other team and we see it when we fly tracks and all that.So it’s this consistency,” that we’re on a quest. We know we have him as a team, that we can do it.We’ve done it in the past.”
The Mets traveled to Baltimore with only 25 games remaining this season condensed and don’t have much margin for error.
Again, with the playoffs expanding, it’s not hard to see them sneak into the playoffs.
“We only have to take, I think, 8 groups for the playoffs, so many opportunities for us to play well and get one of the last places,” McNeil said.”I just have to be consistent for the last few months and I hope to get some wins.”
The Mets are about to receive a dose of energy.
Todd Frazier, a Toms River venue known for his large clubhouse presence, joins the team on Wednesday.McNeil and his teammates are very happy that Frazier, acquired from the Rangers until Monday’s industry deadline, returns for what they expect to be the playoff quest.
“It’s huge,” he said McNeil.Es positive, funny. You can get in his way. He’ll help you when you’re on the ground. He’s a guy who played in the playoffs, who competed in playoff races. It’s going to be wonderful for us.”
Open receiver Robinson Chirinos, also acquired from the Rangers, and right reliever Miguel Castro of the Orioles will also register for the team on Wednesday.A funny note about Castro: he was with the Orioles in Buffalo when he was redeemed, but he returned with the team, one last flight back to Baltimore, and will sign up for the Mets here.
“I think we’re just looking to improve,” McNeil said of the deadline movements.”We chose Todd Frazier, who is fantastic in the clubhouse and gets along very well with all the boys. We’re incredibly pleased to have it,” we’ll be back with the other two.We just have to start betting baseball smartly and we can start here and get a spot in the playoffs.
Rojas added: “All new additions, especially with the power of the team, the boys will see new members of the family circle coming along.Especially an old member of the circle of relatives like Frazier will come and the boys will laugh with him.The other two players, Chirinos and Castro, who had just spoken to them on the phone, seemed excited to sign up for us and need to come here and help the team in every single way.
The 24-year-old Ariel Jurado right makes its first start with the Mets on Tuesday.
Previously, he had 26 starts in the primary league in his name.In 44 games in his career before Tuesday, he had a 5.85 MPM with steps and 103 strikeouts.
Last season, he pitched 32 games, 18 of which were, and finished with 5.81 MPM.
“I know he’s a guy who can attack the area,” Rojas said.”He’s got a little recoil in his fastball. It’s going to make contact. It has the addition of fastball, curveball and replacement, of course.delight of rookie games at major league level”.
Why did the Mets decide to throw Jury instead of Franklyn Kilome, the pen duration guy, or someone else?
“Jury lowers mendacity,” Rojas said, has obviously reveled in starting major league-level matches.Like I said, it went on our site of choice. We were looking for a chance to give you a start if there’s a chance like this tonight.”
Rojas said Michael Wacha would start here on Wednesday.Thursday’s departure is about to be determined.
Jeff McNeil pointed the finger at a safe user of the organization who knows his swing well.
This is Patrick Mazeika, a minor league catcher.
Two nights ago, after the last game at Yankee Stadium, McNeil and Mazeika had “a FaceTime call and broke my swing,” McNeil said.
“Basically it’s based on the position of my head during my momentum,” McNeil said.”When I’m well, my head is above the marble. And I can stay on the ball. In the last few weeks, if you look at my head, it’s more in my frame and more towards first base, so I essentially aimed to stay behind the ball, keeping my head above the marble.I was able to do very well unlike a difficult left-hander, I’m just going to move on and hopefully I can do it again.”
McNeil hit the Opener On Tuesday Array269.Possibly he would be warming up after two doubles on Monday and in his first at-bat on Tuesday.
To make room for Jury, the Mets signed right reliever Hunter Strickland for assignment.
You have entered an MPM of 8.10 out of 3.33 photos this season.
