Frank McAvennie says Greg Taylor “must fight” for his spot at Celtic after Diego Laxalt’s signature on the deadline.
Former Hoops and St Mirren striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, insists that 22-year-old Taylor “enjoys” the festival at Parkhead this season.
Celtic proved on Monday that Laxalt had been pulled from the 27-year-old AC Milan on a one-season loan deal after the club struck a deal.

Taylor is the club’s only recognized left-back after Boli Bolingoli left for Istanbul Basaksehir last month.
The arrival of Uruguayan alien Laxalt now gives Neil Lennon characteristics for the left-back.
Asked through Football Insider what Taylor’s new signing is this season, McAvennie said:
“Listen, Greg (Taylor) hasn’t had anyone challenge him for his position since he was there and now he’s fighting. Taylor will appreciate it and see Laxalt.
“One thing we know about Laxalt is that he will be to protect. They teach you how to protect in Italy.
“This guy has an engine, so I hope he gets ahead because it’s the fashion game, but I’m sure he’ll be a wonderful defender too.
Taylor has made 12 appearances for the Hoops this season, contributing a purpose and 4 assists in all competitions.
He has 3 years of contract left in Glasgow, having signed a four-year contract when he arrived from Kilmarnock in September 2019.
In other Celtic news, Frank McAvennie said a player received more education before the Rangers clash.
