Napoli’s star forward Victor Osimhen signed a contract extension on Saturday, extending his deal with the Serie A champions until 2026.

The club posted the same photos 4 minutes later with the caption “Victor and Napoli together until 2026”.

His contract was set to expire in 2025 and Italian media reported that his salary had more than doubled to 10 million euros ($11 million) per season, with a release clause of between 120 million and 130 million euros.
Napoli reportedly rejected a bid of more than €200 million for Osimhen from a Saudi Arabian team last summer.
Osimhen, who will turn 25 next week, signed from Lille in 2020 for a fee of around €75 million and the Nigerian foreigner has established himself as one of the most interesting forwards in the world.
He helped Napoli win the Serie A title last season, and his 26 goals were enough to make him the first African player to finish as the Italian league’s top scorer.
Osimhen has had a mixed start to this season after Rudi Garcia replaced title-winning coach Luciano Spalletti.
In fact, stepping out of the winter moving window seemed like a genuine option in September when an angry Osimhen deleted almost all photos of him in the team jersey from his social media accounts after the club posted a video mocking him online.
Osimhen was also injured while on duty overseas, and in his absence, the club replaced Garcia with Walter Mazzarri.
Osimhen has nevertheless scored seven league goals this season, putting him third in the scoring charts.
