Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Matar Sarr has signed a new six-and-a-half-year contract.

The 21-year-old Senegal international has played 18 times for Ange Postecoglou’s side in the Premier League this season.

The new deal helps keep him at the club until the summer of 2030.

Sarr has been named in Senegal’s squad for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) but his participation may be in doubt after being injured in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth.

After scoring the first goal, Sarr left the box in tears in the first half, when on January 15 the Senegalese CAN crusade in Ivory Coast against Gambia began.

Sarr joined Tottenham from Metz in 2021 and spent the 2021-22 season on loan at the French side.

Since making his debut for Spurs in January 2023, Sarr has made 33 appearances in all competitions and scored two goals.
