With the use of stadiums across France (Bordeaux, Lyon, Nice, Marseille, Nantes and Saint-Etienne will host matches) and the final held at Paris Saint-Germain’s Parc des Princes, it will be an epic birthday party of the enchanting game.

For the first time since 2008, the USMNT has qualified for the tournament and it is hoped that a young and talented team will be able to offer a medal to the U. S. team as they won a big draw at the organizational level where they will face host France in the opening match. Two-time defending champions Brazil failed to qualify, so World Cup hosts France and World Cup defending champions Argentina are favorites to win gold. The men’s tournament is an under-23 competition, however, 3 players from each team in the 23-year-old can compete for their country. Therefore, all eyes will be on Mbappe, Pulisic and Messi to see if they will be included in their national team. Mbappe and Pulisic seem likely, while Messi, playing in Paris, probably won’t make it. Still, we can dream.

The USWNT qualified for the women’s tournament, which allows players of all ages to compete, and is the favorite to win gold in Paris, but has not had good luck at the Olympics since 2012 in London, with Canada as the protective champion. The USWNT found themselves in a very difficult organization with Germany, Australia and Zambia or Morocco in a position to push them all the way to triumph in the knockout stages. Hosts France are also expected to make a deep run, while Canada, Brazil and Colombia are the only other organizations to qualify at this stage as qualification for the women’s tournament intensifies in the spring.
