Paris 2024 Olympic Games: everything you want to know about the Opening Ceremony

Around 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will take part in Friday’s festivities. More than 90 boats will transport the athletes down the Seine as spectators queue to see them. According to the Olympics website, the larger NOCs will have their own boat, while the smaller ones will share a boat.

Some 220,000 spectators are expected to be invited and supervised on the banks of the Seine, and another 104,000 paying spectators will stay from the lower bank and around the Place du Trocadéro.

The parade will focus on the 6 km stretch of the Seine that begins at the Austerlitz Bridge, next to the Garden of Plants. Along the way, they will get up close and personal with some of the main historical monuments of Paris. , adding Notre Dame and the Louvre, before ending at the Pont d’Iéna, which connects the Eiffel Tower on the left bank of the Seine River with the Trocadero district on the left bank of the Seine. right bank.

The opening rite live policy is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p. m. ET and airs on NBC and airs on Peacock and NBC Olympic platforms.
