Barcelona will be looking to sell one or two major assets this summer and, as their main source of income and one of the stars they are willing to be part of, Frenkie de Jong is increasingly shaping up to be the preferred option. What they are looking for is out of the question for a number of clubs, and Paris Saint-Germajor are likely to be among the four or five who would sign him.
The Blaugrana would like €100 million for De Jong, which in any general scenario would be a moderate asking price, but with the weak economy and the exorbitant salaries he is earning lately, it puts them in a poor negotiating position. Some reports have even claimed that Keeping De Jong would charge the club €77 million over the remaining two years of his contract.
According to Sport, PSG are looking for a striker this summer, in addition to a midfielder, who could simply be De Jong. They are willing to shell out €60 million for De Jong, which could rise to around €80 million with bonuses and variables. If De Jong leaves, their plan is to sign Girona captain Aleix Garcia for a fee of between €14 million and €20 million, with whom they have a strong link.
