The French champions are preparing lately for the departure of Kylian Mbappe, with the French foreigner expected to sign for Real Madrid for a flexible move at the end of the campaign.
There have been indications that PSG are keen to sign Rashford, with the capital side taking a long-term interest in the England international, who has struggled to show his most productive form in the 2023-24 season.
However, the product of the Red Devils’ academy has been on PSG’s radar lately, according to French football journalist Julien Laurens.
“At the moment, Rashford is on the shortlist drawn up through PSG,” Laurens told talkSPORT. “They had a plan in case Kylian left.
“Now that he’s gone, they can activate the plan. On the map are Bruno Guimaraes and Bernardo Silva from the Premier League and [Victor] Osimhen and [Rafael] Leao from Serie A.
“There is also a young French defender, Leny Yoro, who is only 18 years old and yet is the most talented player of his generation, who is also followed by many English clubs. At the moment, this is the short list. Ideally, you should then simply recruit two of the five, maybe one, maybe three. It depends on a lot of things.
“Rashford is not there [on the list]. He possibly would have been there last summer and the summer before his brother met Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of PSG, but it was more to please Mbappe because he wanted to play with Rashford, they are smart friends.
“Now that Kylian is leaving, I’m sure of the relevance of the link with Rashford. “
Rashford signed a lucrative new contract with Man United last summer after a 2022-23 campaign, but the 26-year-old’s form has fallen this season.
The Englishman has controlled just six goals and six assists in 33 appearances for the Red Devils and has shown frustration for the club this season.
Rashford, however, has scored four goals in his last eight Premier League games, a goal against Manchester City in Sunday afternoon’s Manchester derby.
The striker’s relationship with head coach Erik ten Hag has reportedly been strained since an incident in January, when Rashford visited a nightclub in Dublin for another two nights and then called for health issues to work out ahead of the FA Cup clash against Newport County.
Rashford, who is part of the Man United squad preparing for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Everton, issued an emotional reaction last week to a recent complaint against him.
