Patriotic Injuries: David Andrews, Josh Uche Go On IR; James Ferentz recalled

David Andrews is going to spend some time.

The new England Patriots medium would have damaged his thumb and required surgery, forcing him to run out of time.

Turns out it’ll be at least three weeks.

The Patriots put Andrews and rookie linebacker Josh Uche on injured reserve, ESPN’s Field Yates reported Saturday. Due to the new IR rules, they can be activated after 3 weeks.

While any of the defeats are far from ideal for the Patriots, Andrews is more of a punch. New England’s offensive line is obviously greater with him hitting the ball, and his presence was lost in 2019 when he was absent all season due to blood clots.

Uche has to play a game this season because of a foot injury.

Ferentz has been in the NFL since 2014 and has been with the Patriots organization from time to time since 2017. He spent much of his time with the Patriots on the team, but played 15 games (two as a starter) last season with Andrews absent.

The Patriots will face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium. Ferentz will most likely hit Cam Newton in this game.
