Don’t expect New England Patriots open receiver Julian Edelman to return in Week 16 against the Buffalo Bills.
Edelman, who is still on the injured reserve, did not practice this week as the Patriots prepare for their penultimate game of the season against the Bills. Edelman was not seen through Saturday practice at Gillette Stadium. It won’t be activated until Monday, week 17 would come in front of the New York Jets.
Closed-wing Jordan Thomas, the only absent player on New England’s active roster. Defensive tackles Carl Davis (injured reserve) and Isaiah Mack (COVID-19/reserve), an educational team, were also not seen.
Edelman has been on injured reserve since Halloween after undergoing knee surgery. He was on COVID-19 / reserve.
Davis is in the RI with a concussion. It’s transparent why Thomas missed Saturday’s session. The Patriots also have rookies Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene on their 53-player list. Thomas has been a smart scratch in the last two Patriot games.
