FOXBORO, Mass. – The two captains of the New England Patriots and the 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year on Saturday in practice.
Quarterback and offensive captain Cam Newton and cornerer Stephon Gilmore remain on the reserve/COVID list and were not present. Free and defensive protection captain Devin McCourty was also absent.
A source told the NESN. com that McCourty was “good” and that he still plays monday as opposed to the Denver Broncos. His absence does not appear to have been similar to an injury or illness.
Journalists were only allowed to see the stretching part, so there’s no data on who would start as a quarterback between Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer if Newton doesn’t activate on Monday.
We saw that the Patriots’ open receiver, Kristian Wilkerson, was wearing a Pinnie No. 81 and devin Ross’ giant practice team wore a Pinnie No. 10, which means Wilkerson imitated Tim Patrick and Ross played the role of Jerry Jeudy in practice.
The Patriots are expected to receive a media on Sunday before Monday’s game against the Broncos, which begins at 5:02 p. m. ET on ESPN.
