Brazilian midfielder Paulinho moved ahead of Wednesday’s match against Manchester City and gave the impression of downplaying manager Tim Sherwood’s compliment in his last appearance.
The 25-year-old injured his ankle against Stoke on 28 December and has regained his fitness.
After the 3-0 win over Stoke, manager Tim Sherwood praised paulinho’s signature and now Paulinho is extremely happy to be back.
In statements to Tottenham’s official website, he said: “I’ve missed some matches with this injury and now I’m back.
“He’s smart when the coach says those things. I’m doing the most productive thing for the team. I don’t play alone.
“I only play well when my colleagues help me. I do as productive as possible for the team and the team. “
“The table seems smart at the moment. We have a great game opposite City now and if we can win this game it can be very for us.
Paulinho scored in his friendly return last Thursday against West Ham and admitted that his injury is difficult to suffer.
“I’m pleased to be back, to score, ” admitted the former Corinthians star.
“I had an injury opposite Stoke, a complicated scenario for me because I had never had this injury before.
Now I have to work education and do everything I can to give the manager the option.
“I’m going to paint and see how it goes. “
