CRAIG SWAN: Bernardo showed flashes. However, it is enough to spend £6 million. It’s too expensive.
ANDY NEWPORT: The Hoops faithful were hoping for another Jota, however, the Portuguese compatriot of the beaten winger only fulfilled his promise in flashes. His Old Firm hints at his abilities, however, they’ve been very few and far between, which is why he’s been in and out of Brendan Rodgers’ side all season. I would look to spend the money elsewhere.
FRASER WILSON: Not for me. There is not enough evidence to recommend that he is a £6 million player. This type of cash requires a week-in-week effect. If they were to lose Matt O’Reilly, then Bernardo wouldn’t have the same quality.
CRAIG: The most productive user for the task, get it. Whether it’s Maryhill or the Moon.
ANDY: We’re looking for the most productive user for the task, it doesn’t matter if it’s from Motherwell, Munich or Mars.
FRASER: No matter where they come from, they hide for nothing. VAR is a crisis and handball and offside rules are a nightmare. That’s what you want to be consistent with more than anything else.
CRAIG: Dundee United are the headliners and Tannadice have the team to get the job done.
ANDY: You’d think Dundee United would eventually prove too strong given the quality of their squad and the money they’ve spent on it, however, Jim Goodwin’s men have continually presented Rovers with opportunities to hold on.
If Tannadice’s team wins the championship, they will only be guilty of it.
FRASER: Watching Dundee United capitulate to Dunfermline last week was a revelation. They have the most productive team, but their form is everywhere. Next weekend will be huge at home to Raith and whoever wins will have the momentum. I long for Raith.
CRAIG: France is always at the top of the list for those tournaments and this year is no different.
ANDY: With such ridiculous abundance at your disposal, France is the big favorite for me.
FRASER: I see noisy neighbors being promoted again. However, France turns out to be a bigger gamble. They have strength and quality in all their ranks.
