Pedro scores goal in Rome’s first win

MILAN (AP) – New recruit Pedro scored a surprising goal when Roma beat Udinese 1-0 in Serie A on Saturday for their first win of the emerging season.

Roma had a one-point disadvantage after their first-round draw at Hellas Verona for an ineligible player and then tied home for Juventus.

Pedro scored the only goal of the game in a time after half-time with a 25-yard shot that went in from the right side.

Pedro, 33, joined Rome from Chelsea in August.

Udinese lost all three games this season and has to score a goal.

SASSUOLO CLINIC

Sassuolo took advantage of his merit to beat the newly promoted Crotone 4–1.

Simy changed a penalty four minutes after the break for Crotone to cancel Domenico Berardi’s first game in the first half.

But Francesco Caputo scored from the penalty spot for Sassuolo minutes later and doubled his overall with five minutes to the end.

Manuel Locatelli crowned an evening for Sassuolo at the discount time.

The Genoa-Turin setting was postponed due to a primary outbreak of coronavirus within the Genoa team, with more than 20 players and staff tested positive.
