Philippe Coutinho’s long term remains unresolved, as the Brazilian game maker remains connected with a move to Arsenal, but it seems that the Barcelona star will return to Bayern Munich.
Philippe Coutinho’s long track record has been demonstrated, and this may be good news for Arsenal if they need to secure their signing.
Brazilian striker Coutinho was on loan last season at Bayern Munich, winning the Champions League and Bundesliga.
It remained to be known whether he would remain at the Allianz Arena as rumours of a return to the Premier League circulate.
But the 28-year-old will return to Barcelona for now, depending on the German team, which means he may have to point out this summer.
On one on their website, Bayern wrote: “After the triple season, FC Bayern say “Thank you “and” Goodbye, watch out “to Philippe Coutinho.
“The Brazilian international, who arrived on loan to Bayern from Barcelona last August, returns to Catalan after his one-season contract expires.
“Due to the suspension of matches by the coronavirus pandemic and the next blockade, the 28-year-old offensive midfielder’s contract at Bayern has been extended to crown the end of the Champions League final in Lisbon.”
Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge added: “We thank Philippe Coutinho very much.
“With his creativity and the right technique, he’s energized our game this triple season.”
While director Hasan Salihamidzic said: “Even though FC Bayern and Philippe Coutinho split up after only one season, their participation in Munich evidently demonstrated how exceptional it is.”
Coutinho’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, admitted that returning to England is an option this summer.
“Because the Champions League will last until August 23, it will be difficult for players like Coutinho to make commitments or moves before that date,” Joorabchian said.
“Because he has the Champions League right now, they have to lead Chelsea upside down. And then he has to play against Barcelona, whether he is or not.”
“For him to commit he finishes the Champions League.
“He loves to bet in the Premier League, he loves to bet in the Premier League and that’s one of his priorities. He is not opposed at all to staying in Barcelona.”
