The wolves will be concerned about the stagnation in Adama Traoré’s contract with Kevin Phillips.
England’s former international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, fears that the 24-year-old will “turn his head left, right and center” and can leave Molineux in 2021.
David Ornstein’s Athletic last week that talks between the club and Traoré’s representatives on a new contract had stagnated.
He still has three years left on his current contract, but with a hypothesis about his future, Football Insider understands that the Wolves are willing to meet their terms.
He revealed in April that Liverpool were interested in signing Traoré if Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah left the club.
When asked via Football Insider if he expected Traoré to be at Molineux at the start of the 2021/22 campaign, Phillips said: “I may see him go.
“I think Traoré’s head turns left, right and middle to the bottom by those who advise him.
“We all know that agents communicate with clubs and I’m sure he’s earned all sorts of information. It doesn’t help anyone, least of all the wolves.
“I never thought the Wolves would let Jota go, but that tells you those players need to play at level.
“Traoré has been connected with Barcelona and with great clubs.
“It is a sign of concern from the board’s point of view that contract negotiations have stagnated. It will be attractive to see what happens now. “
