James has been a revelation to Chelsea in what goes from the campaign, and his performances were the last foreign pause suggesting that he could also have a role to play for England.
It took a special player to get to look and move club captain César Azpilicueta. Maybe the Blues would have no idea it would be one of their own, and so soon.
James is now Chelsea’s first selection to the right of defence, and enthusiasts will no doubt love seeing a player with Chelsea’s DNA at the start of 11 weeks.
