The Spurs have been chasing the 25-year Danish midfielder for months and saw a bid of 20 million pounds, plus additions, accepted last week.
“I think there’s a long way to the club and I was looking a lot to be a part of it.”
And Hojbjerg, who will wear the number 5 shirt that became vacant through Jan Vertonghen, is now officially a Spurs player after those in North London shared the news on social media.
“We are very happy to announce the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.”
Hojbjerg told Tottenham’s official website: “How vital for me is that I sought to play at a club where you might see me for many years.
“That Tottenham. I’m very proud, very happy, excited.
“I think the club has a long career and I was looking very much to be a part of it.”
Hojbjerg for sale after making it transparent, would not extend his contract at St Mary’s, which still had a year to finish.
The Danish 33-match international has been stripped of the captaincy for his comments.
Hojbjerg, who moved to England from Bayern Munich in 2016, has worried about the Spurs, despite Everton’s interest.
I was afraid to miss the team of Mourinho, as the Spurs refused to gather what they needed.
But now a deal is reached, as Tottenham targets a 2019-20 below par.
In a separate deal, Kyle Walker-Peters has made the Spurs to Southampton a 12 million-pound deal.
The 23-year-old, who played 10 games for the Saints at the end of the season, also put the pen on paper on a five-year contract.
