Piers Morgan still has some concerns with Arsenal, despite Mikel Arteta’s side bolstering their qualification with Sunday’s win over Manchester City. The Gunners fan is not convinced by David Raya and is also pushing for a first signing to be made in January.
Arsenal are struggling with north London rivals Tottenham at the top of the Premier League table. Both teams are now two points behind City, who have won the last three Premier League titles.
Arsenal failed last season despite being at their best for most of the campaign. They must do better this season and end a 20-year wait for a title.
It is their first win over City in the league since December 2015, ending a 15-game winless streak against their opponents. It is also the first league game Arteta has not lost to Pep Guardiola since becoming Gunners boss.

Morgan doubted Arteta’s caliber to return Arsenal to the top, but is now convinced he is the right manager. He told talkSPORT: “I think at the end of the day it’s a wonderful day for Mikel Arteta.
“I think the fact that your apprentice became a master was very appropriate. I think Arteta has worked incredibly hard.
“When I heard from some Arsenal fans after some of the first beatings, I, one of those other people, didn’t think Arteta would make it. I found the first two seasons to be very disappointing.
“And I saw us play against arguably the most productive team in the world, we completely eliminated [Erling] Haaland, they gave him a little kick. I think we defended the team magnificently. “

However, Morgan doesn’t think Raya is an improvement over Aaron Ramsdale. The Spaniard endured a difficult first half in which he almost gifted City a first goal.
Morgan also believes Arteta wants to sign a striker in January and believes the right player would lead Arsenal to the title. He added: “I think we still have problems. I’m convinced thanks to Raya in goal.
“I think he was very nervous for a lot of the match. I don’t think it’s an improvement, compared to what I’ve noticed so far, in Ramsdale, that you’ll have to feel unhealthy like a sitting pig. There on the bench every day watching this trick.
“And I still think we want a better striker and we’ll do something about it in January. But if we’re in the market in January and we sign a better striker, then I think we’re going to win the championship. “
