The order provides police and network officials with the strength to disperse the crowds.

Anyone who returns to the domain can be arrested.

The collection, described through GMP as a ‘rave-style event’, should begin at 7 p.m., according to the Manchester Evening News.

A police leader said: “We strongly recommend making plans to attend tonight’s occasion not to.

“There are no opportunities to attend.”

City Council officials and firefighters were also concerned about the operation.

Police went to the site and the device was reportedly discovered installed and in a position to be used.

He – and his stage – is now locked.

In a statement, the force said: “GMP’s committed operation in combating illegal large-scale meetings prompted the unlicensed musical occasion to take position later tonight, on Thursday.

“The officers of the Central Division of The City of Manchester were informed of a rave-style occasion to be held at Strangeways of Manchester and to accommodate many people.

“In collaboration with partners from Manchester City Council and the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, officials attended the site and discovered that they were ready for the illegal incident.

“More high-visibility patrols have been deployed to the domain while the facility is cleared.

“There is a scatter order nearby and the police are advising the public to stay away from the area.”

Superintendent Chris Hill said: “First of all, I would like to thank the public for their cooperation in providing us with ongoing data on the organization of illegal occasions, not only in Manchester but also in the Force Zone.

“Today’s action underscores our commitment, together with partners from local authorities, firefighters and others, that these occasions are not given and we have responded firmly to the data we have received.

“We strongly recommend making plans to come tonight’s occasion so as not to.

“There is no opportunity to attend, there is a scatter order and we have a greater police presence in which you will have the strength to use the judicial force when proportionate and necessary.

“These kinds of illegal occasions are harmful and unacceptable and we will have the necessary legal characteristics to ensure that the organizers of this occasion are brought to justice and we will not diminish our efforts to save them.”

Several raves and confinement parties took up a position in the pandemic region, resulting in violence or injury.

Three other people were stabbed and a woman raped a rave locked up in Carrington, Trafford, last month.

More than 2000 people participated.

Another rave occasion held at Daisy Nook Country Park in Failsworth, attended by 4,000 people.

Later, a man collapsed and died of an alleged drug overdose.
