Police have fulfilled their purpose of hiring 6,000 new policemen in a year and there are still two months left.
In October 2019, the government introduced a recruitment crusade to recruit 20,000 new officials until 2023.
To date, 6,620 staff have been recruited according to a quarterly report on the progress of the programme.
This indicates that until March 2021, the crusade will have exceeded its target.
According to a general interim report by the Ministry of the Interior, there were 135248 police offices in England and Wales in December 2020.
More than 120,000 others implemented police officers after the campaign launched in October 2019.
Knowledge shows that 40% of the new recruits were women, and of those who reported their ethnicity, 10% were of black, Asian or minority origin.
