Portview to the paintings at Buckingham’s Fulham Stadium

Development specialist Portview has taken over the paints of Fulham Football Club’s Craven Cottage from collapsed contractor Buckingham Group.

Portview had already been commissioned to complete the interior design of the new Riverside stand after the final touch of the base through Buckingham Group. The paintings remained unfinished when Buckingham was brought under control in September.

Paul Lavery, Portview’s chief operating officer, said: “Since the unfortunate demise of the Buckingham Group, we have taken over some of the rest of their paintings and continue to work intensively with the club on this exciting project.

Buckingham Group was appointed in 2019 as prime contractor for the £100 million task of demolishing and rebuilding the stand to increase its capacity.

The paintings were originally scheduled to last two years, but suffered disorders similar to the pandemic and the difficult situations of the site. Buckingham announced in 2021 that it expected to pay £14. 2 million for the task following the liquidation of a key subcontractor, Kaicer Building Envelope. Solutions.

Fulham FC have told their fans in their latest update that they now expect the first component of the stand to open in 2024.

Some of Buckingham’s stadium projects have also discovered replacement contractors. Mace has taken over the paints of Birmingham City FC’s Tilton and Kop stands, and Preston-based Rayner Rowen has been appointed to look after Liverpool FC’s entire Anfield Road stand.

Fulham FC has been contacted for comment.

The structural industry has solved its skills shortage by hunting abroad.
