USMNT and Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie believes he emerged stronger from a loan spell at Leeds United, where he felt he was “letting others down. “

Stephen Kenny’s contract with the Republic of Ireland will be renewed, the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has announced.
Kenny’s departure comes after the Republic failed to qualify for the Summer European Championships in Germany.
The 52-year-old took charge of his final game on Tuesday night, where his side drew 1-1 in a friendly with New Zealand in Dublin.
In a statement on the FAI website, CEO Jonathan Hill said: “Over the period of his tenure, Stephen and his staff have worked tirelessly to create the right environment to support the development of our senior men’s team, and we are hugely grateful for that considerable contribution.
“Stephen has also overseen an important period of transition for our senior men’s national team and has given debuts to a significant number of new and younger players and this will serve as a solid platform for whoever now takes this group of players forward.”
Kenny had admitted he was unlikely to continue in that role after the Republic of Ireland finished fourth in their qualifying group, wasting both of their wins against Gibraltar.
“Of course, it would be a dream to carry on and manage the team, but my instinct is that’s not going to happen,” he said. “The evidence suggests that probably won’t happen, so I respect that as well.”

Carlisle United have a new American after being bought through Castle Sports Group.
The organization — owned by Florida’s Piatak family — took over the League One club after the deal was ratified by the English Football League (EFL).

Emma Hayes says she is yet to decide if she will travel to the United States to visit the USWNT’s camp during December’s international break with her “full focus” on Chelsea.

Markel Zubizarreta has presented himself as the new director of Spanish women’s football, as demonstrated by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

Millie Bright is doubtful for Chelsea’s Champions League organisational level against Paris FC on Thursday as she continues to manage her load following knee surgery.

Barnsley was withdrawn from the FA Cup after fielding an ineligible player in his first-round replay, seventh-placed Horsham.
The club from the first department of the Isthmian League has been reinstated and will move to Sutton United of League 2 in the second circular on December 2.
Barnsley said they would conduct a “full internal investigation” into the clerical error that led to his expulsion.

Nick Hammond will continue in his role as a transfer consultant at Leeds United until the end of next summer.
Hammond was hired as interim football adviser in June to help oversee Leeds’ recruitment ahead of the start of this season.
He joined Leeds on an initial short-term contract but the former Reading director of football will be involved in the next two transfer windows – January and summer 2024.
Hammond’s previous roles also include stints at Celtic and West Bromwich Albion.

Celtic were fined by UEFA after fans displayed Palestinian flags as if they were Champions League flags last month.
European football’s governing body deemed the display at the October 25 fixture at Celtic Park a “provocative message of an offensive nature” and imposed a £15,200 (€17,000, $19,000) sanction.
The Scottish champions were also fined €8,000 for the blocking of public passageways while both clubs were handed additional financial punishments for the lighting of fireworks.
Celtic had warned its aides that “political messages and banners” were not welcome on the pitch following the help of a segment of the enthusiasts just hours after Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7.
Celtic will return to Champions League action on Tuesday against Lazio.

The English Football Association has said that professional clubs “do not reflect the degrees of diversity within the player population”.
This comes after the FA published its third annual report on the Football Leadership Diversity Code. Introduced in 2020, the code is an initiative to prompt the collective effort to address inequality in senior leadership, wider team operations and coaching roles.

Amirbek Saidov gave Uzbekistan the lead inside the opening four minutes before Manchester City’s Joel Ndala equalised for Ryan Garry’s side after finding the bottom corner with a right-footed shot.
