Bayern have a 100 percent record after two matches, extending their winning streak at Europe’s elite festival to thirteen matches.
After coming close to qualifying for the circular 16 for the first time at the expense of Liverpool or Napoli last season, it has been a disappointing start for Jesse Marsch’s appearance this time round.
Salzburg were held to a 2-2 draw through Lokomotiv Moscow on the first day, Vitaly Lisakovich equalising for the Russians past due in the fit after the Austrians got here back from to lead the fit.
Marsch’s appearance reverted again to 1-0 at Atletico Madrid, with Dominik Szoboszlai in shape on the left wing, before Joao Félix’s double left the Austrians empty-handed in the 3–2 loss to Diego Simeone.
With two matches against Bayern to come, the Austrians’ chances of qualifying for the 16-way circular seem slim, and possibly now it’s a matter of making sure they stay at the European festival by completing over Lokomotiv in third place.
Bayern, meanwhile, appear to be in a dominant position in the organization after extending their winning streak at the festival and returning in search of the dominant force in Europe.
Hansi Flick ruthlessly dismantled Atletico in a 4-0 hit on the first day of the game, with Kingsley Coman brilliantly to score a double, after entering Serge Gnabry’s place.
Bayern, however, discovered much more complicated things at Lokomotiv, ahead of the game 2-1 thanks in a giant component to Joshua Kimmich’s magnificent goal as a visitor in the 79th minute, the game is at stake at this stage.
However, these are the 3 problems at this level of competition, and a closed victory in Austria would do The Flick good, as it seeks to conclude progress towards the 16th circular as soon as possible.

Patson Daka is in doubt about the check against Bayern, the Zambian striker who suffers a hamr tendon injury. He has scored 12 times in 11 games this season, so Salzburg’s chances of victory would be greatly reduced if he were not for the national team.
German under-21 striker Mergim Berisha rested for the weekend’s Wattens goal, but is expected to return to the side.
Flick made several adjustments to the strangely nervous 2–1 win over the weekend in Cologne, with Lucas Hernandez, Leon Goretzka and Robert Lewandowski rested, but the trio returns to one side.
Alphonso Davies is absent after breaking a ligament in his ankle, and Flick can simply look to rest some other players with Saturday’s Der Klassiker opposite Borussia Dortmund in mind.
Red Bull Salzburg start imaginable: Stankovic; Nissen, Ramalho, Wober, Ulmer; Kamara, Junuzovic; Mwepu, Berisha, Szoboszlai; Daka
Departure from Bayern Munich: Neuer; Pavard, Sule, Alaba, Hernandez; Kimmich, Goretzka; Muller, Tolisso, Gnabry; Lewandowski
If Daka gets rid of his hamstring challenge to start the game, we believe Salzburg can provide Bayern with some other tough test, but the Bavarians have enough to keep the Austrian champions behind.
With Lewandowski taking a rare break this weekend, the Pole will rush to leave, especially after not having scored in the Champions League so far this season.
