A press and newspaper photographer who spent 32 years at the corporation, however, has left the chamber to enjoy his retirement.
Jim Irvine, who in 1988 in the DarkRoom experienced a revolution in photography, as the generation moved from film to digital.
Over the years, Irvine rose to fame in the Northeast and enjoyed photographing football matches and real tours.
He retired this week and is ahead of his time spending more time on his hobbies.
Irvine said: “When I’m sitting at home, I keep thinking that I should be away from everything, but when I walk in, I realize that I like it.
“But it’s time to go, I think.
“I’m going to miss all the photographers and journalists at work.
“I will miss many jobs, especially football and photography of the royal circle of relatives and others we know all the time as Lord Provost. “
Mr Irvine added: “I’ve worked with wood again, so I’m just completing a work bench and I’m going to do some gardening.
“I’d love to see my daughters in Glasgow and Paris, because I haven’t noticed them all year. “
