PSG, Marseille and Rennes their Champions League rivals

Bayern Munich, the team that disadvantaged Thomas Tuchel’s team of glory, will begin defending their crown against Atletico Madrid, Red Bull Salzburg and Lokomotiv Moscow.

Rennes, who made his Champions League debut after completing the 2019–20 Ligue 1 season in third place, will be in Group E with European League champions Seville, such as Chelsea and Krasnodar.

Marseille, a PSG finalist in the French elite, will be measured at Manchester City and Olympiakos in Group C.

Marseille technician André Villas-Boas will also return to his former playing box in Porto.

Thursday night’s draw was held at the offices of European football’s governing body, UEFA, in Geneva.

“Football brings hope to people,” said UEFA boss Aleksander Ceferin. “It provides positive energy. It’s incredibly vital from the company’s point of view to finish last season’s tournament. “

The 2019/20 festival has been suspended for more than 16 games as European countries try to stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Shift

UEFA, however, has left the classic home and away matches for an eight-team knockout tournament in the Portuguese capital.

After defeating Barcelona 8-2 in the quarter-finals, Bayern swept Lyon 3-0 before wasting PSG to claim their sixth European title.

The victory crowned a hat-trick for the Bavarians, who also won the Bundesliga name for the eighth consecutive season as the German Cup.

La Liga champions Real Madrid will face Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter Milan and Borussia Monchengladbach in Group B, while 2019 champions Liverpool will face Ajax, Atalanta and Danish club Midtjylland.

The Group G heavyweight clash will pit Juventus in Barcelona.

Zenit of St. Petersburg, Borussia Dortmund, Lazio and Club Bruges are from Group F.

UEFA has said that the first of the matches will take place on 20 and 21 October.
