SEVILLE: PSV Eindhoven rallied from a two-goal lead to a 3-2 victory in a high-octane Champions League match against Sevilla on Wednesday that moved the Dutch closer to knockout stages and ended Sevilla’s qualification hopes.
Defender Sergio Ramos put Sevilla ahead in the 24th minute and Youssef En Nesyri slotted the ball over the goalkeeper to extend their lead two minutes after the break.
Yet the match turned on its head after Sevilla’s Lucas Ocampos was sent off in the 66th minute for two yellow cards in the space of three minutes.
Ismael Saibari put PSV back in the game with a volley in the 68th minute and the Dutch side equalized with an own goal from defender Nemanja Gudelj in the 81st.
Ricardo Pepi’s header gave the visitors a comeback that propelled them into second place in Group B with 8 points, one of the leaders of Arsenal, who have a game in hand and will face third-placed Lens on five points later on Wednesday.
Sevilla are bottom on two points.
