PSV have the last option for the Manchester United striker following Ten Hag’s U-turn, but the LA Galaxy are also emerging

PSV Eindhoven have reportedly taken steps to sign a Manchester United striker on loan for the second part of the season, while the LA Galaxy are also in the running for the player.

Facundo Pellistri’s long career has been the subject of recent speculation amid reports linking him to a temporary departure from United, having played just 371 minutes of competitive football under his belt so far this season and not having done so since September.

Erik ten Hag opted to turn to Amad Diallo off the bench ahead of Pellistri during the 2-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest and with United out of Europe and the Carabao Cup, chances of first-team action will be even more at a premium.

This will most likely inspire the Red Devils boss to let some of his fringe men go, with insider Fabrizio Romano claiming PSV have come forward to loan Pellistri.

Romano adds that LA Galaxy are also keen on a move for the talented 22-year-old, although the MLS outfit want a permanent deal and are expected will submit an offer in the coming days.

Ten Hag seemed keen to give Pellistri a chance to prove himself, but as Amad now has compatibility to cover Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Marcus Rashford in wide positions, an exit is inevitable.

Sevilla and Sir Jim Ratcliffe-owned Nice have already been linked with the Uruguay international.

Overall, United’s movers are expecting an overly busy January window, and Ratcliffe’s presence will be felt a lot more this summer.

Indeed, there are more likely to be outgoings than incomings, with Jadon Sancho continuing to be heavily linked with a return to Borussia Dortmund.

Following the FA Cup clash with Wigan, United will face Tottenham at Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday before the mini winter break.

Ten Hag’s men are currently eighth in the table and eight points behind fifth place Spurs.
