PSV midfielder Richy Ledezma tears pre-knee cruciate ligament

EINDHOVEN, Netherlands (AP) – PSV midfielder Eindhoven midfielder Richy Ledezma torn his anterior cruciate ligament from his right knee and will play this season, his club announced on Friday.

The 20-year-old U. S. alien injured his knee in the 18th minute of PSV’s 4-0 win over Cypriot Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League on Thursday.

Ledezma played six games for PSV this season and made his debut last month for the U. S. national team, where he scored two assists in the 6–2 win over Panama.

Ledezma thought he would probably play for the U. S. Under-23 team in the postponed standings for the Tokyo Olympics, and also thought he was in the contest to be part of the CONCACAF Gold Cup team in July and August.

Born in Arizona, Ledezma can play as a band and has also played in defensive midfield and as a striker for PSV and his youth team.
