Racing de Ferrol, Ferrolan of the Year

The Racing Club of Ferrol won the title of Ferrolano of the year, after awarding the municipal teams of Ferrol to the board of spokespersons who celebrate this mine. Guillermo Llorca Freire, a graduate in Geography and History, a high school teacher and researcher from Ferrol specialising in History, also won a gold badge. The naval village has published more than thirty books, article centres and research papers in newspapers and magazines. Last year he was coordinator of the “Ferrol no tempo” party organized through the Xunta and the Foundation.

Ana Mariño Calleja, M. D. , and specialist in internal medicine at the University Hospital Complex of Ferrol, obtained another gold badge. Recently, he stood out at the GeSIDA congress (Grupo de Estudio do SIDA da Sociedade Española de Enfermidades Infectiàs e Microbiología Clínica) for his professional direction. and for his work in the promotion and progression of the Infectious Diseases Unit, with a special focus on HIV infection.

The Ferrol City Council also recognized a gold badge from Chelo Loureiro Vilarelle, one of the few female animation producers in Spain. He founded Abano Producciones in 2007 and has won 3 Goya Awards (2017, 2022 and 2023).

Ferrol will also earn the gold badge of office. The first is Carmela Primo Constantino, a social worker at the Diocesan Caritas of Mondoñedo Ferrol. He is responsible for the program within this entity and has participated in radio systems on behalf of and raising awareness about the homeless scenario.

The moment will be for José Oreona Pita, president of the Association of Peoples of Ferrol and a basic figure of the associative movement and defender of the environment, cultural heritage and the archaeological remains of the rural environment.

The awards will be presented on the day of the San Xiao dinner at an event that will take place at the Jofre Theatre in Ferrol.
