Rashod Bateman announces he will return to Minnesota football after his retirement

Minnesota catcher Rashod Bateman announced Wednesday on Twitter that he will return to the 2020 season after retiring:

Agent Registration 0. Thanks to who made this possible, Let’s ROW ❤️ https://t. co/3VCdHSMKCR

Bateman declared himself for the draft on August 4, raising the uncertainty of next season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Big Ten announced a week later that he would postpone the fall season.

The convention is now scheduled for October 24, giving players like Bateman a chance to play.

Head coach P. J. Fleck announced earlier this month that Bateman had re-registered in the classroom and filed an exemption with the NCAA to return to the game, which was approved on Wednesday.
