And with all that, quarterback Lamar Jackson won the 2023 NFL MVP award, which would be his second.
Jackson finished 18 of 21 passes for 321 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions. That’s enough for a better QB score of 158. 3.
The 2019 league MVP had touchdown passes to wide opener Zay Flowers, running back Justice Hill and guard Patrick Ricard, and finished two to tight end Isaiah Likely. Running backs Gus Edwards and Melvin Gordon scored touchdowns in the game.
Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley went above and beyond to relieve Jackson and threw a touchdown pass to tight end Charlie Kolar to secure another lopsided win against one of the league’s most productive teams.
Baltimore outscored Miami through 491 yards to 375 while Jackson outpointed Dolphins quarterback and fellow MVP candidate Tua Tagovailoa. Tagovailoa finished 22 of 28 passes for 237 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the wasted effort. Tagovailoa also left the game late in the fourth quarter after injuring his left shoulder on a clumsy slide into a hit.
With one week remaining in the regular season, the Ravens have all the momentum they want heading into the playoffs, and we’ll see coach John Harbaugh address resting starters in the final game of the season.
