Buen triunfo para el Real Madrid, que, pese a que salió al campo un poco dormido, logró rápido el primer gol, por mediación de un gran Mbappé en el minuto 10. Parece que el francés empieza a ser el que deslumbró al mundo entero en el Mónaco y el Paris Saint-Germain. Después llegaron los goles de Fede Valverde, con un disparo muy poderoso desde fuera del área, y el de Rodrygo, a pase de un muy destacado Lucas Vázquez, que fue un verdadero quebradero de cabeza para la defensa sevillista. Llegó después el gol de Isaac Romero para poner el 3-1 antes del descanso.
Ya a la vuelta de vestuarios, el Real Madrid salió algo dormido, aunque volvió a ampliar su ventaja con un gol de Brahim tras una gran triangulación entre él, Lucas Vázquez y Mbappé. El 4-2 final lo puso Lukebakio, gracias, en parte, a Courtois, que se comió el disparo del belga por el primer palo.
