BARCELONA, Spain (AP) – Marco Asensio and Lucas Vázquez point to Real Madrid for a 2-0 win over Celta de Vigo on Saturday, when the protective champions beat Atletico Madrid by an advantage point over the Spanish League.
Atletico, second-placed, has played three games less than Madrid and will have the chance to be the sensible one again when he comes to Alavés on Sunday.
Asensio moved to the position of the moment for Vzquez to get ahead of himself in Madrid’s first match in the 6th minute and then allowed his compatriot to double the lead at 53.
“We played a full match from start to finish,” said Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane. “We control the game, balance our transitions between attack and defense and recover the ball through our pressure.
“We feel good. But much remains to happen in this league,” Zidane said of the race for the name as the league approaches its midpoint.
Celta had arrived at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium in Madrid as one of Spain’s top highlights, but Vazquez and Asensio punished Celta for their competitive tension that left too much area in the bands.
It is Celtic’s first loss in seven rounds since former matcher Eduardo Coudet took office in November and remained in eighth place.
Madrid ran out of central Sergio Ramos for an uns specified abdominal illness, but it was another of the other matches that Madrid fought to win in his absence, involved the understudy Nacho Fernández and made two stops to the only shots at Celtic’s doorstep.
The purpose came seconds after Nacho scored a goal that Iago Aspas had overturned goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Celtic lost the most sensible goalscorer, Aspas, to an obvious challenge in his right thigh, who came out of the area grimacing when he was substituted, moments before Asensio scored Madrid’s goal after a quick counterattack introduced by Luka Modric’s interception to a pass from Jeison Murillo.
Asensio’s purpose is the first of the season. The 24-year-old striker has been slowly recovering from his return in June after several months of a torn ligament.
Nacho also courtois’ network to block Miguel Baeza’s time-off effort.
“Losing our most productive player made it harder for us, but we stayed in the game and looked to score to the end, so he’s going to move on,” Coudet said.
DERBY SWEEPSTAKE
Sevilla needed goalkeeper Yassine Bounou to save Nabil Fekir’s penalty to save a 1–1 draw with a Real Betis who lacks several players for COVID-19 contagions.
Jesús “Suso” Fernández put Seville ahead of the existing one in ’48. Sergio Canales changed penalties after Diego Carlos needed Loren Morón in the area to tie Betis at 53. It is Canales’ third purpose in two games since returning from injury.
Fekir took the place of Betis with 15 minutes to go after falling victim to a foul through Marcos Acua, but his attempt suffocated through Bounou.
Mexican striker Diego Lainez led Betis in the first half when he prepared Fekir and Canales for a narrow failure.
Betis without Joaquín Sánchez, Andrés Guardado, Martín Montoya and ‘Lex Moreno’ after testing positive for coronavirus.
Sevilla stayed in 5th place and Betis in ninth place.
The seville derby is positioned amid intense rivalry among fans, this time it was played without spectators like the rest of the matches in Spain because of pandemic restrictions.
MORENO RATINGS
Gerard Moreno led Villarreal to a 2–1 win over Levante after scoring his ninth goal of the season to leave him tied for Celtic’s Aspas as the most sensible goalscorer in the competition.
Moreno joined Fernando Nino’s first game when the Spanish striker fired a right shot right to the right at 54.
Moreno also hit the post after Levante replacement Sergio León pulled one with a headbutt.
VALLADOLID WINS
Israeli striker Shon Weissman scored in the first half and Valladolid beat Getafe 1-0 and escaped from the relegation zone.
