Real Madrid ‘considering making transfer move for Erling Haaland’ as fresh doubts emerge over Kylian Mbappe switch

REAL MADRID could reportedly turn their attention to Erling Haaland if they don’t sign Kylian Mbappe.

The Paris Saint-Germain star has just six months left on his contract in the French capital and is allowed to negotiate with other clubs ahead of a summer move.

Real Madrid are in talks with the superstar and no agreement has been reached.

Reports recommend that Mbappe will have to take a pay cut to secure his move to Los Blancos.

And Real Madrid have put an end of January deadline on discussions to force him to pen a pre-contract.

Reportedly, this left Mbappe “unimpressed” with his plan to make a resolution later this year.

Real Madrid will sign a big-name striker this summer.

Should Mbappe reject them, the club could instead go for Haaland.

Outlet AS claims that the clause in his deal with Manchester City is closer to £100m than £200m.

City have never shown a figure.

Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, revealed in November that the striker was open to a move in the future.

She said: “Erling is the master of own destiny, always.

“He will do what’s right for him and for Manchester City.

“When everyone makes a change, it will happen.

“Erling will be respectful. Of course, the respect must be from both the Club and the players. I have no doubt that Manchester City will respect him.

“If one day something is going to happen, we will agree each and every step with the club. It’s a matter of respect. “

His father, Alf-Inge, previously advised his son to play all over Europe, saying: “I think Erling needs to prove his talent in each and every championship.

“Then he can be in any league for 3 or 4 years at most.

“He could have two-and-a-half years in Germany, two-and-a-half in England, and then in Spain, Italy, France, right?”
