Real Madrid move news: ‘Los Blancos will sign Tottenham star Hotspur’

Los Blancos will bolster their attack with the acquisitions of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick this summer, but there is no idea the club is contemplating signing a new central midfielder despite the retirement of Toni Kroos.

Instead, Jude Bellingham will most likely drop back from the No. 10 position in central midfield, with Mbappe joining Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo in the final third place in the group.

However, according to ESPN Argentina, Real Madrid would sign a centre-back, and the club would contact Romero’s team to talk about the option of signing for the Bernabéu.

The report claims that Carlo Ancelotti’s team is really a solution for the 26-year-old, who is currently part of the Argentine national team preparing for the Copa America.

Real Madrid are reportedly keen to find out how much it would cost to sign Romero this summer, while Tottenham struggle to remain one of their top players.

The defender joined Spurs from Atalanta BC in 2021, first on loan, and has represented his current team 98 times, scoring six goals and registering one assist.

Romero backed a Tottenham standout in the 2023-24 campaign, making 34 appearances and scoring five goals in the process, with all of his Premier League targets being in the Premier League.

Ange Postecoglou’s team has a South American contract until June 2027, so they are in a solid position about his future.

However, Romero is said to be willing to sign for Real Madrid this summer and could force his current team to strike a deal with the European champions.

A lot will depend on Nacho’s future, as it is not yet clear that the experienced centre-back will sign a new contract at the Bernabeu, as his current contract expires on June 30.

Real Madrid struggled in the middle of their defence last season, with Eder Militao losing a lot of football due to an ACL injury, while David Alaba himself suffered a serious knee problem at the end of 2023.

Aurélien Tchouameni has thus imposed himself alongside Antonio Rudiger in the centre of defence, but Nacho has been largely linked to the German in the second part of the season.

If Nacho leaves, it makes sense for Real Madrid to look for a new defender, especially since there are doubts about Alaba’s long-term stay at the Bernabeu.

Tottenham, however, may ask for a hefty price tag for one of the Premier League centre-backs, and it remains to be seen whether a deal can be reached.
