REAL MADRID star Joselu has made an incredible apology to the fans after scoring in the night’s win over Napoli.
Los Blancos led 1-0 at the Bernabeu before Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham scored a historic goal for the La Liga giants before the break to turn the game around.
Napoli equalized moments after the break, but late moves from Nico Paz and compatriot Joselu sealed Madrid’s 4-2 Champions League win.
However, the former Newcastle and Stoke City flop turned heads with his 94th-minute goal.
Instead of celebrating, Joselu proceeded to do a praying gesture towards home fans in what appeared to be some sort of apology.
The 33-year-old, assisted by English superstar Bellingham, had missed several since coming into the dugout and made headlines at the weekend with an incomprehensible moment of wit against Cadiz.
But while he seemed to be saying sorry for his spurned opportunities to the Bernabeu faithful, one team-mate was quickly on the scene to put things right.
Bellingham led Joselu into the crowd to get a standing ovation.
He then attacked the rest of the Madrid team in an emotional moment of the player on loan from Espanyol brought in to update Karim Benzema during the summer.
It was Joselu’s sixth goal this season in 18 games and Bellingham then explained why he went out of his way to make sure the experienced ace received the popularity he felt he deserved.
The 20-year-old former Borussia Dortmund and Birmingham City midfielder said: “It’s about pushing your teammate, your friend, the soldier you have towards you, across the line.
“We know what he can do when the ball’s delivered in the right area.
“Tonight he put on a few, but that’s the life of a striker.
“For me it’s vital to look for it more than anything. Especially in this area of the pitch, I’m satisfied for him.
