Real Madrid and La Liga president Florentino Perez has started a “war” against France amid the imminent signing of Kylian Mbappe, according to reports.
The French international’s playing time in Ligue 1 has taken a hit in recent weeks after he announced he would leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season on a flexible transfer.
He remains unstoppable in the Champions League, with Mbappe scoring two goals in their recent win over Real Sociedad; however, they have only played two of their last four Ligue 1 games.
France coach Didier Deschamps even reacted sarcastically when asked his opinion on Mbappe’s reduced time, telling reporters this week: “It’s great, magnificent.
“Considering the number of games being played. . . The detail of freshness in a great festival is essential. It’s smart for them to have playing time, but betting every 3 days. . . There will be fatigue. I’m not worried about Kylian’s speed at all. These are the coach’s decisions.
It has been widely reported that Mbappe will sign for Real Madrid this summer, but this has not been officially announced, and it is possible that France will have some other challenge to solve at that time.

One of the main hurdles to overcome has been Mbappé’s participation in the 2024 Olympic Games, which will take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
And now, French newspaper L’Equipe (via Forbes) claims that Real Madrid and its president Perez are going to “war” with France over Mbappe’s participation in the event.
Real Madrid’s position is that it will allow any of its other French players, adding Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Ferland Mendy, to play in Paris later this year, with its resolution set to generate hostility between the Spanish club and the French Football Federation. .
The L’Equipe report insists that Mbappe’s involvement is “increasingly compromised” by his imminent move to Real Madrid, with the newspaper adding: “Whatever Mbappe’s preference for the Olympic experience, the option of seeing him take part in the Olympics with France is diminishing throughout the day. Hopes would be slim.
Mbappe needs to play in the Olympics, especially because they are in his own country, but he would “understand” if this was not imaginable this summer.
“I’ve reached a point in my life and in my career where I don’t need to force things anymore,” Mbappe told GQ.
“If they let me, I would gladly come back. But if that’s not possible, I’ll understand. For any athlete, the Olympics have a special position and I was already looking to go to Tokyo because I need to win everything. “and to write my call-up in the history of the French national team as that of a player who counted.
Explaining how Mbappe’s imminent move to Real Madrid came about, Fabrizio Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column late last month: “We still have to wait for the formal steps with Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid, so I haven’t heard it’s signed yet.
“Still, I think this time is the end of the saga and the formal step will be taken soon, and Mbappe will speak to PSG once he has officially signed the document. At that point, PSG will announce that Mbappe will leave the club. “as a free agent.
“I can see that Mbappe, his mother, his lawyers, they all have Real Madrid’s contract proposal in their hands. So now it’s just a matter of time. Of course, it’s taken a long time and it turns out that last summer nothing broke between us. “Mbappé and PSG, when he was left out of Luis Enrique’s pre-season and the stage was tense.
“In the end, PSG controlled this situation, but in December Mbappe made the decision to leave the club and in January he took the time to talk to his team and then communicate his decision to Nasser Al-Khelaifi. It’s time for him to leave and look for something else: he was already tempted by Real Madrid two years ago, and now he feels it’s time to try a new project, a new league after a long time at PSG.
