PORTLAND, Oregon (AP) – Giuseppe Rossi and Sam Johnson scored back goals and Real Salt Lake recovered to draw 4-4 with the Portland Timbers on Saturday night.
Sebastian Blanco scored in the 70th minute to put Portland 3-2 and Felipe Mora added what he gave the impression of being a sure purpose at 85.
But Rossi’s first GOL in the MLS in the 90th closed the gap, and Johnson tied the delay in off time.
The groups were among those who sat outside at Wednesday night’s games to protest racial injustice. Five of the six MLS games scheduled for that night were postponed, adding the Portland earthquake game in San Jose and the RSL vs. LAFC game.
The next day, Real Salt Lake owner Dell Loy Hansen reacted to a local radio screen saying, “Disrespect is profound to me personally.
Hansen also cautioned that he would not invest as much in the team in the future. In addition to RSL, Hansen also owns the Utah Royals of the National Women’s Soccer League and the ROYAL Monarchs of the USL.
As a result of those comments, a report in The Athletic detailed Hansen’s alleged use of racist comments and racial slurs. MLS and NWSL introduced investigations and on Friday night, Real Salt Lake announced that Hansen will take a license.
Diego Chara scored in the 6th minute to give the Timbers a quick lead. It is the first of the season and the first since 2018, finishing a streak of 43 consecutive aimless appearances. His last purpose also came here opposite RSL.
Salt Lake tied it on Corey Baird’s goal in the 19th minute, but some three minutes later Jaroslaw Niezgoda scored for the Timbers to give them back the lead.
Damir Kreilach’s purpose for Real Salt Lake drew in the 48th minute, Portland responded with Sebastian Blanco’s explosion beyond the area.
GALAXY 3, EARTHQUAKES 2
CARSON, California (AP) – Sebastian Lletget and Cristian Pavon scored at the time and LA Galaxy went back to beat San Jose, with 16-year-old Cade Cowell scoring his first goal for the earthquakes.
Cowell, the youngest player in franchise history to start a game and score, made his way in the 59th minute. On the left side, Cowell subsidized away from a defender before breaking the farthest pole with his right foot.
Lletget redirected one that diverted a Defender from San Jose to give the Galaxy (2-3-2) a 3-2 lead in the 82rd minute.
Valeri Qazaishvili opened the score for earthquakes (2-2-2) in 11, and Daniel Steres brought home a long pass from Lletget in a loose kick in the minute to tie.
REVOLUTION 1, RED BULLS 1, CRAVATE
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – Gustavo Bou scored, Matt Turner made three saves and New England tied New York to increase his streak in the normal season to seven games.
Teal Bunbury, on the counterattack, played a low ball that led Bou to the most sensible of the 6-yard penalty domains for one end of a touch to take the score to 1-1 in the 41st minute.
Omir Fernandez eluded two defenders and then switched to Benjamin Mines, who played a return for the first time to Fernandez for the end from the nearby diversity to give the Red Bulls (3-3-2) a 1-0 lead in the 35. Fernandez, 21, and Mines, 20, are local.
Fernandez slid a pass to two defenders that led Tom Barlow near the right corner of the 6-yard penalty area, but Turner cut in the fourth minute. Turner overcame Barlow once he settled back through Fernandez, for a moment in the 17th.
New England (2-1-5) has not missed a regular season since the 2–1 loss to the Montreal Impact in the first of the season on 29 February.
Tim Parker of New York showed a red card for a serious foul on Tajon Buchanan in the minute of the discount time.

FRISCO, Texas (AP) – Fabrice-Jean Picault and Jess Ferreira scored within 1:28 and FC Dallas beat Minnesota United.
Reto Ziegler changed a penalty for FC Dallas (2-1-3) to top the score in the sixth minute of the time off.
Hassani Dotson scored for Minnesota (3-2-2).
ORLANDO CITY 3, ATLANTA UNITED 1
ATLANTA (AP) – Urso scored his first MLS goal, Chris Mueller and Luis Carlos Almeida da Cunha contributed to Orlando City’s victory over Atlanta United.
Orlando City (4-2-2) has won back-to-back games, beating Atlanta for the first time in career games.
Brooks Lennon scored for Atlanta (3-4-0).
NEW YORK CITY 3, FIRE 1
HARRISON, N.J. (AP) – Anton Tinnerholm had a purpose and one hand and New York beat Chicago.
Maximiliano Moralez played a pass-through to Tinnerholm for an internal wide-post tap-in that gave a 2-1 lead in the 53rd minute. Moralez, who led mlS with 20 assists last season, a part-time submarine, made its first appearance since a calf injury on July 20.
Keaton Parks and Alex Ring scored for NYCFC (3-5-0). Mauricio Pineda scored for Chicago (2-5-1).

CHESTER, Pennsylvania (AP) – Kacper Przybylko had two goals and one hand and Philadelphia beat D.C. United to increase their streak of losses in the normal season to six games.
Sergio Santos and Brenden Aaronson scored for Philadelphia (4-1-3). Julian Gressel scored for D.C. United.

CINCINNATI (AP) – Przemyslaw Tyton recorded his fourth whitewash of the season and FC Cincinnati tied 0-0 to the Columbus Crew on Saturday night.
Tyton made 3 saves for his blank leaf moment in the last 8 days.
Cincinnati (2-4-2) is goalless on a three-game win-free streak.
Columbus (5-1-2), who has victories on an undefeating six-game streak to open the season, has been closed in consecutive matches.
KANSAS CITY SPORTS 1, RAPIDS 1, TIE
COMMERCE CITY, Colorado (AP) – Gianluca Busio scored and Sporting Kansas City survived in the last few minutes with a boy who fit in Colorado.
Colorado defense header Danny Wilson cleared a Kansas City Corner (5-2-1), but went straight to Busio far from the surface, where he exploded with a right foot inside the pole to put the 1-1 in the 67′.
