Real Sociedad star Mikel Oyarzabal retired from the Spanish national team after the Covid-19 event

Real Sociedad captain Mikel Oyarzabal has withdrawn from the Spanish national team to face Germany and Ukraine following Covid-19’s positive.

Oyarzabal has been tested through Real as part of a full series of PCR tests at all La Liga clubs before returning to pre-season training.

The 23-year-old will stop signing for Luis Enrique’s Madrid squad and will be home 14 days, so he is about to miss the start of the 2020-21 season.

Enrique Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno to update Oyarzabal, according to a report from Marca.

Moreno finished as Spain’s most sensible goalscorer in La Liga in 2019–20, with 18 goals for the yellow understudy.

The 28-year-old made his debut in Spain in September 2019, scoring 3 in 3 games for the national team.

Enrique’s team will work out at the Las Rozas resort, before flying to Stuttgart on 1 September, before returning to Madrid to face Ukraine on 6 September as a component of the UEFA Nations League.
