Real Sociedad continued with the unpredictable start of the La Liga season by taking the lead on Sunday after a 3-0 win over Real Betis.
Villarreal had temporarily claimed the most sensible position in the previous day by beating Valencia 2–1 at Ceramica, but Real Sociedad’s impressive victory put them at the forefront for differences in purpose.
He is the sixth team to lead La Liga after six rounds of matches so far, while Real Madrid have given up their position as the most sensitive in the group after a defeat by Wonder House to Cadiz on Saturday.
Barcelona was also in Getafe.
Real Sociedad took credit when Portu and Adnan Januzaj scored goals from both sides of Mikel Oyarzabal, converting a penalty to sentence Betis to a third loss in four games from his new coach Manuel Pellegrini. They fall in sixth grade.
Earlier, Dani Parejo returned to hang out with Valencia by scoring the winning goal for Villarreal, opposite his former club.
After making 363 appearances for Valencia, many as captain, Parejo is one of the few key players allowed to leave this summer.
His deflected shot in the 69th minute recalled what they lacked when Villarreal slept to pass a point to Real Madrid.
Despite a 4-0 goal at the hands of Barcelona last month, it is an encouraging start for Unai Emery, who appointed Villarreal as coach in July.
They’re in trouble in their first six games.
Valencia are twelfth, having won only one win in their last five games, and coach Javi Gracia’s career remains uncertain.
Gracia criticized the club after Valencia sold players like Parejo and Francis Coquelin to Villarreal, like Rodrigo and Ferran Torres to Leeds and Manchester City, but was unable to make a single addition in the summer moving window.
Emery also once in Valencia, as Paco Alcácer del Villarreal, who opened the scoring with a penalty before Gonoalo Guedes tied a while before the break.
However, Parejo had the final say, received a pass from Takefusa Kubo and wrapped himself after his shot veered from Mouctar Diakhaby. Kubo then expelled in the 90th minute after reaching 64.
