Real Sociedad has shown that midfielder Martín Odegaard is back at Real Madrid before next season following a successful transfer.
It had been the idea for the Norwegian to spend a season on loan at the Basque club, before this week he gave the impression that Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane had especially asked him to return to the Spanish capital this summer.
Zidane is said to believe that the Norwegian star is in a position to join the first Madrid team without delay and return to his first request for this move.
Despite an agreement between club presidents Florentino Pérez and Jokin Apperibay that Odegaard’s loan deal to La Real would last one more season, this will no longer be the case.
Odegaard said goodbye to the club and even said that the Royal Society and its enthusiasts made him “like one of their own young men.”
The club added, confirming his return to Los Blancos: “His goals, his football, his character, his effort and his humility have made Martin a memory with immense affection through the authentic family of the Society.
Odegaard scored seven goals for Real last season, his long run tied with Luka Modric in the first team in the Spanish capital, and Odegaard is expected to be the Croatian’s successor in the starting line-up.
