Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool had a very difficult start in the Premier League after the 2020/21 matches came out.
Liverpool receives newly promoted Leeds United at Anfield in their first match and then played back-to-back games with London clubs Chelsea and Arsenal.
It’s a tricky start for the Premier League’s protective champions, however, Klopp said that although Liverpool was wary of a complicated comeback, he did not believe that any of their warring parties were looking to bet on the Reds.
He told the club’s website, “For months, for weeks, you have no idea how you’re going to get started and it’s like, “What? Leeds United at home, Chelsea out, Arsenal at home? This is all complicated. Difficult to start, complicated, complicated to start, of course.
But I have to say that I don’t think Leeds likes this start, I don’t think Chelsea need to play against Liverpool.
“Arsenal, oh my God, an away game, it’s just not nice. What this shows, we deserve to see it this season.
“So it’s going to be difficult, it’s hard, but it’s great for everyone as well as the other teams.
“We just want to make sure we’re in the best position possible.”
Liverpool and Premier League action returns on 12 September, Manchester United and Manchester City are not part of the Premier League show due to their participation in European football.
Klopp hopes to have a fully compatible equipment for the Leeds crash, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be included.
The English midfielder injured his knee at Liverpool’s pre-season campus in Austria and will make the rest of the arrangements for the new campaign.
