The boss of F1 team Red Bull said he is “excited” about the future of their “centre of excellence”.

Christian Horner joined F1 drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez for a homecoming parade at Red Bull’s headquarters in Milton Keynes.

Verstappen won his third world title in October and recorded 19 wins, while Perez won two races.

“The investment that’s been made here in the UK, here in Milton Keynes, has been phenomenal,” Horner said.

About 2,000 staff celebrated the team’s success on Wednesday, welcoming their star racing drivers back to base.

Horner paid tribute to the entire team who directed the scenes at the Tilbrook site.

“It’s also a real campus in the motor industry,” he said.

“To see both drivers come back after such a successful year – you could see what it meant to the staff that have all worked so hard to provide them with the amazing cars that they’ve driven this year,” he added.

But the team principal said Red Bull’s 2023 season would not be repeated during his lifetime.

“With such strong opposition, such strong groups and strong regulations, I’m sure next year will be much stricter, much stricter and another one of challenges,” he said.

However, he said it’s still ahead.

“We head into our 20th year next year, and to think we’ve won 13 championships,” Horner said.

“What’s exciting is the future. Lately we’ve been building our own engine here in Milton Keynes, in preparation for 2026. “

He said more than 2,000 people were working on the campus “across all the different businesses” and “supporting with advanced technology”.

“As a center of excellence, we attract and expand some of the highest capabilities in the industry,” he added.
